Belgisiz Zamir ve Sıfatlar / Indefinite Pronouns and Adjectives

There is some work in an office. Everybody is sure that somebody should do it. Anybody can do it but no one wants to do it. So when no one does it, everybody blames somebody...

"another, anybody, anyone, anything, everybody, everyone, everything, nobody, no one, nothing, one, other, somebody, someone, something"; ayrıca isimler ile beraber kullanılacak şekilde "all, any, most, none, some" gibi belgisizler (sıfatlar) vardır.  Belgisiz zamirler ve belgisiz sıfatlar : Daha önce, miktar ifadeleri konusunu işlerken, burada bahsettiğimiz sözcüklerin hemen hemen hepsinden bahsetmiştik. Bu ifadeler bilgi vermeden, tanıtmadan ve belirtmeden isimleri niteler (sıfat olduklarında) veya isimlere işaret eder (zamir olduklarında). Başka bir deyişle ismin yerini tutarlar.  Aynı Türkçede olduğu gibi, İngilizce konuşurken de belgisiz zamir ve sıfatlar - (indefinite pronouns and adjectives) kullanılır.

Olumlu cümle  yapılarında şu şekillerde kullanılabilirler;

The children always want something.   I see something in the sky! I don't know what it is.   Your teacher talks to someone in the street everyday. Do you know that person?   Most people don't like operas.   We have some apples. Ali takes one of them. Ayşe takes another, and we put the rest in the fridge.   Everybody wants to be a millionaire.

  

Olumsuz durumlarda ise, genelde "anyone, anybody, any...." ile kullanırız.

I don't want to eat anything now. John is the new student in this class. He doesn't know anyone yet.

"nobody, nothing, no...." gibi olumsuz ifadeler yüklemi olumlu olan cümlelerde kullanılır ve anlamı olumsuza çevirir.

He doesn't know anyone. He knows no one. Nobody wants to be lonely. Nobody wants to cry.

Soru sorarken ise, vermek istediğimiz anlama göre bu sözcüklerin hepsini de kullanabiliriz.

Do you watch anything on TV? Are you friends with anyone in this street? Is there something you want to tell me? Is someone waiting for you outside? Where is everybody?

Ayrıca mekanlar için "somewhere, anywhere, nowhere, everywhere"; vakit ifade etmek için de "sometime, any time, every time" gibi ifadeler kullanılabilir.

I want to stay at home. I don't want to go anywhere tonight. We can go to that restaurant any time you want. Every time I call your house, you are away.
